	Scholarships HALIFAX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS 2012 Scholastic Assistance - High School Application 2012 Scholastic Assistance - College Application Scholarship applications for graduates from the class of 2012 are available in the links above or in the Church Office, Halifax High School Guidance Office, and Halifax Youth Center. All completed applications are due in the Church Office no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, April 13, 2012. The following criteria is used to evaluate the applications: Academic Grades Personal Typed Essay Active Church Member/or Youth Center Involvement Extra-Curricular Activities References for high school students only College Expenses/Need As stated in the Bailets Estate Legacy, “the criteria for these awards shall be established by the name Executor and the scholarship committee of the Halifax United Methodist Church, taking into consideration need, and such other factors as they may determine, as well as allowing only one scholarship per year to a resident of the Halifax Area School District and all other scholarships must be awarded to persons who attend the Halifax United Methodist Church”. The scholarships for 2012 high school graduates will receive a certificate at their Senior Awards Night. Other scholarships will be presented at Halifax United Methodist Church on the first Sunday in June. All recipients, along with their families, will be asked to be present during our church worship service to be recognized. The following scholarships are available for 2012: Individual scholarships regardless of field of study or college Persons entering into the ministry Chemistry, bio-chemistry or molecular biology field to a student who is at least in his/her first semester of the third year of college education A student planning to enroll or presently enrolled in a music related program in college Scholarship brochures are available in the Church Office. In March, scholarship brochures will be sent to the college students presently enrolled in college.
